Roma are in advanced negotiations with Destro, although the player owned by Genoa and Siena is hesitating over wage demands.

“Destro can become a top striker,” said Totti. “Siena is a different atmosphere to Roma, but we will help him settle in.

“He’s not a Roma player yet, but I hope he can become a top player in the next two or three years.”
